Hakeem Nicks spoke to ESPN’s Josina Anderson over the weekend and expressed his desire to head to a team where he is “the missing link.” During their conversation, Nicks mentioned three teams, the Colts, the Chargers and the Panthers as potential landing spots where he could thrive. Notably omitted where both New York clubs.

To me the best fit for Nicks out of those three choices would be the Carolina Panthers.Carolina has a young, top notch D, but really lack any weapons on the offensive side of the ball outside of their quarterback, Cam Newton.Cam, for the last few seasons, has had to rely on an aging Steve Smith and a possession wide receiver in Greg Olsen as his top targets. Adding Nicks to the outside would provide a big, physical option that could stretch the field, creating big play opportunities and allowing more room for Newton to create with his feet. Pairing with Luck or Rivers would also be nice for Nicks, and both could use someone of Nicks’ mold and caliber, but I think pairing up with Newton would provide the most opportunities for individual and team success.

Plus, Nicks was born in Charlotte, and went to college at UNC, so it would seem like a match made in heaven if the finances aligned.

What do you think? Which of these potential landing spots best suits Hakeem Nicks?
