The 5-9 New York Giants have left the door open for criticism and scrutiny from any one, including Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor.

"Tom Coughlin has done wonders for the Giants," said Taylor, to the New York Post. "Personally, I don't know if I could play for him, but the guy is a winner, he is a fighter."

"But I think it is time for him to take his talents on the road. He's done all he can do for the Giants. If he wants to coach, I think he needs to take his philosophies to another team."

Keep in mind that Taylor said these words on Saturday night, less than 24 hours before the Giants were blanked at home by the Seattle Seahawks for the first time since 1995.

"After a while, the players just stop listening. I respect the man, but it's time. As much as I like Coughlin and the job he has done, it's time for a shakeup."

The Giants will finish their season below .500 for the first time since Coughlin's first year in 2004.
