Yankees Closer David Robertson gave up five earned runs in the top of the 9th on Sunday in only 2/3 of an inning, giving him his second blown save of the season.
Girardi, though, wasn't frustrated with the pitching. After the game, the Yanks' skipper got on to the guys who swing the bats.
“We do have some injuries but you can’t make excuses,” Girardi said. “You still need to find a way to get it done. We need to get some guys going who were expected to be big-production guys. These are the guys we have and they got to find a way to get it done.”
The Yankees are now 29-26 on the season, 3.5 games behind Toronto.
