You listen to most of sports talk radio and you would think the Miami Heat are playing the Miami Heat in the NBA finals. On top of that if the Heat lose a a game well the world is coming to an end. When the Spurs lose, as they did game 4, it is still only about the Heat.

The Heat pasted the Spurs in the 2nd half of game 4, outscoring the Spurs 60-44 and have tied the series at 2 games apiece. Yet the talk today is Heat, Heat, Heat, Heat. Not  much about the Spurs poor 2nd half showing, at home no less.

Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh combined for 85 points in the blowout. Lebron scored 33, his highest output of the series so far.

The Spurs bombed away in game 3, hitting 18 shots from beyond the 3 point line. In game 4 they were held to only 8 makes in 16 tries. The  Heat decided they would play some perimeter defense and play it they did.

The 2 hero's from game 3 for San Antonio, Gary Neal, and Danny Green combined for just 23 points. Green had 27 in game 3, only 10 in game 4.

The Heat won the glass by by 5 rebounds and they were hawking the ball all night, finishing with 13 steals. The Spurs had just 5.

San Antonio point guard Tony Parker had his minutes watched closely as he is playing with a mild strain in his hamstring. In 32 minutes Parker scored 15 pouints and dished 9 assists.

Manu Ginobili is almost a no-show. he tallied just 5 points in 26 minutes. Whether injury or age is bothering Ginobili but he is a shell of his former self right now.

Mean time the Heat big 3 were all about business in game 4. The entire conversation after any Heat game so far in the playoffs is all about what Miami did right or wrong. Lose a game and the world wants to bust up the big 3. Yet very little praise or critical analysis of the opponent is offered. The Spurs were beaten in every hustle stat you like. Points in the paint. Steals. Rebounds. Assists. Fast break points. All of them.

Yet today it is Heat-Heat-Heat. The Spurs will host game 5 on Sunday but Miami has wrestled home court away from San Antonio. Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday nigth and if game 7 is needed it will be Thursday night.

Oh by the way the Heat haven't lost 2 straight games of any kind since January of 2013!
