A great local story has emerged this week out of tragedy. Sa'fyre Terry, an eight-year old girl who lost her family in a fire two years ago, has gotten support from all over the place.

As the holiday season approaches, Terry said that she wanted Christmas cards. And thus far, several people from several places have made that wish happen. The Outlaws Hockey club had her as a guest at a recent game. They gave her gifts and gave her an oversized Christmas card signed by the entire team.

Thank you to our friends at WNYT for the video and for helping to spread this story during the holiday season.

If you want to help make Sa'fyre's wish come true, you can mail her a card at:

Sa’fyre Terry, P.O. Box 6126, Schenectady, NY 12306.

Some places have reported that thousands of cards have already been shipped to Terry.

Great job, Capital Region and beyond.
