Monday December 7th at 5pm is the official deadline for Heisman Trophy voters to place their votes. Four of the Power 5 conferences will kickoff their conference championship games this Saturday and included in the mix is the front runner for the Heisman Trophy. Alabama junior running back Derrick Henry maintains his top spot on the ESPN Heisman Watch for another week in a row. Henry's 1,791 rushing yards currently leads all of FBS. Last week Henry ran for 271 yards on 46 carries in a win over rival Auburn. Henry's 271 yards ranked third all time in Alabama history and the 46 carries was a school record. Henry is just ninety two yards away from setting a new single season record for rushing yards by an SEC player and just two rushing touchdowns away from setting the conference single record as well. Henry received nine of the ten possible first place votes in the Heisman Watch. Clemson quarterback DeShaun Watson received the other first place vote ranking second. Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield and Florida State running back Dalvin Cook rounded out the top five. Our own Tom "Goz" Goslowski will vote for the Heisman Sunday night and reveal his vote on Monday December 14th's show of Armen and Levack.
