The Pittsburgh Steelers have decided to release Hines Ward.  It's an unfortunate ending to a Hall of Fame career.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have informed wide receiver Hines Ward that they will not be bringing him back for Ward's 15th season with the team.  Hines Ward had 1,000 catches for 12,083 yards and 85 receiving touchdowns in his career.  He played all of his 14 years in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Ward won two Super Bowls with the Steelers, and was also named MVP of Super Bowl XL against the Seattle Seahawks.  Ward will turn 36 on March 8th.  He finishes his career with the Steelers as the all-time franchise leader in catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.
