Shaker High School graduate Jeff Hoffman was re-called to major league spring training on Thursday for a start against the Los Angeles Angels.

Pitching against a mix of regulars and backups, Hoffman was roughed up by the Halos, allowing four earned runs on eight hits in 2.2 innings of work.

For Hoffman, it was his second appearance of the spring on the major league side of things. Despite the struggles, I still expect Hoffman to be in Denver by the end of the season. His electric fastball and good secondary stuff is too good to keep in the minors for long.

Hoffman joined us earlier this week and spoke about his experience in major league spring training, as well as the emotions around being traded last year and much more.

You can listen to that interview here, as well as hear Hoffman's thoughts on where he may start the 2016 campaign.
