Hoops with a Cause: UAlbany Hosts 6th Annual Coaches Cure CF

What started as something of an experiment six years ago is going strong at UAlbany and more than $18,000 has been raised in the search for a cure to cystic fibrosis. UAlbany alumni president Brian Fessler is as dedicated of a fan of the basketball team as anyone and he has teamed up with the Great Danes for the Coaches Cure CF game.

Will Brown and his assistant coaches all wear sweatsuits on the sideline to help raise awareness for the cause attached to the game and all the money raised stays locally with the Northeastern New York chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The 6th annual Coaches Cure CF game is Saturday, January 5 vs America East rival Vermont at SEFCU Arena. The Great Danes are unbeaten in the previous five CF games and a win over the Catamounts would be a big boost for UAlbany as it opens conference play.
