A lot of things changed for the University at Albany men's basketball team on Thursday night in their home-opening win against Colgate (88-67).

1. After going 2-27 from three-point range in their first two games, the Danes connected on 12-19 three pointers in the win, getting 36 of their 88 points from behind-the-arc.

2. Ray Sanders: After scoring six points in the first two games, the all-conference guard had 24 points on Thursday, including 6-6 from three-point range.

3. The three-headed perimeter monster for the Danes all contributed. Sanders had 24 while Evan Singletary had 21 and Peter Hooley had 11.

4. Offense in general: This was the highest point total in a non-conference game since 2009 when UAlbany scored 89 against Yale.

5. The crowd: The crowd of just over 3,700 was great to see. For a team that's been to the NCAA tournament three consecutive years, UAlbany needs to have that fan support.

UAlbany hosts Oneonta next on Saturday afternoon. If the Danes want to continue to move forward, they need to keep getting production out of their post players. They only got 13 points from Mike Rowley, Greig Stire, Richard Peters and Travis Charles.
