With the verbal commitment of former Guilderland star Andrew Platek to North Carolina and Kevin Huerter's inclusion on the Under-18 National Team, it's been a good stretch here for local basketball trainer Steve Dagostino.

Dagostino, who started the "Dags Basketball" empire, has been working with Platek, Huerter and other local stars including Scotia grad and UAlbany standout Joe Cremo, and Albany Academy star Hameir Wright.

We brought Dagostino onto 'Big Board Sports' today with Rodger Wyland to talk about the success of Platek and what has helped him separate his game from the pack since he left Guilderland.

We also asked if he's seeing more and more kids specializing in sports early and if that's good for kids - and we asked about a trend of players going to prep school early that may start to happen.
