It's obvious that the Yankees will immediately insert Derek Jeter as the shortstop when he returns from a broken ankle, and immediately insert Mark Teixeira as the first baseman when Tex returns from his wrist issue and immediately insert Curtis Granderson as the...hang on for just a minute.

If you were thinking center field, think again.  Remember before Granderson hurt his forearm in Spring Training how the Yankees wanted to test him in left field and Brett Gardner in center field to see what the options were?  Well, the Yanks never got that chance because Granderson got injured right away.  But now, Gardner is playing a terrific center field.  Why mess with it?

When Curtis Granderson gets healthy, the Yanks should play this out like it is Spring Training all over again.  Granderson is a professional baseball player and should be able to understand if it is what's best for the team.  See what he has to offer in left.  So what if it is the regular season and not Spring Training?  The Yanks, Brian Cashman and Joe Girardi should try it.  Especially with Brett Gardner flagging down balls in the gaps and making it look easy right now as the center fielder.
