Shenendehowa basketball star Kevin Huerter, who we have chronicled a lot since the Plainsmen won the state championship at the end of March, is gaining interest daily on the national recruiting trail.

Huerter, who is now playing for the Albany City Rocks on the AAU circuit, has received additional offers from Maryland, Texas Tech, Penn State, Miami and Marquette.

Huerter will return as the top senior in the area in 2015-16, but the Capital Region will be without another top senior as Anthony Mack of Catholic Central has decided to leave CCHS, reclassify as a junior, and head to prep school.

He joins Andrew Platek (Guilderland), who is leaving Section II for the prep circuit also. Mack will play at Blair Academy in New Jersey, as mentioned in his above tweet.

For Mack, it makes sense. With Catholic High entering the Colonial Council next year, he doesn't stand much to gain. This will allow him an extra year and better competition to help project himself to a high Division 1 college.
