This weekend saw three Section II boys' basketball teams capture New York State Championships. Lake George (C), Scotia (A), and Shen (AA) will all put banners in their gym.

Lake George clinched its second title in three years on Saturday by beating Waterville 53-50. Section II all-time leading scorer Joel Wincowski had 30 points in the win, including a long three-pointer just before the buzzer to win the game. Watch the highlights here from WNYT.

Scotia then took center stage on Sunday against Greece Athena of Rochester. The Tartans became the first Section II team EVER to repeat as State Champions. They pushed their area-best winning streak to an astonishing 53 games. Senior Joe Cremo led the way with 24 points the 54-49 win. Three of those points came on this buzzer-beater from half-court.

And finally, Shen won its first title since 1987 by beating Brentwood of Long Island, 76-63. The Plainsmen got 47 points from the Huerter brothers (25 from Kevin and 22 from Thomas). As a former player at Shen, congratulations to Coach Dzikas and Co. on a job well done. It's been a long time coming.
