We are just days away from the beginning of basketball season here in the Capital Region!

Kevin Huerter of Shenendehowa figures to be the best player in the area this year, and he's solidified that through his commitment to the University of Maryland.

And this week, Huerter received more national recognition as he was nominated for the McDonald's High School All-American Game.

Huerter, the lanky point guard, shoots well from the outside but also possesses great court vision. He had offers from more than 20 schools, including: Notre Dame, Michigan, Xavier, Texas Tech, Baylor, Penn State, Albany, Marquette, Miami and others.
