I'm just going to admit it now.  Last night, I got Jimmer'ed!

Now get your mind out of the gutter - you sieves!  I'm talking about Jimmer Fredette.

The Glens Falls native scored 43 points to lead #9 BYU to an upset win over previously undefeated and 4th ranked San Diego State last night.

This game was on television - sort of.  CBS College Sports Network was doing the game.  But as a Time Warner Cable customer, I didn't have that channel – it's part of an expanded sports tier that I don't get.

I wanted to watch the game but I didn't really want to have to pay for it.  Well, after much debate (about 1 minute), I decided to get Jimmer'ed.

So I ordered the Sports Tier - which includes a bunch of other sports channels too.  Problem was, Time Warner was so flooded with people ordering this channel that my TV tweaked out.  So I had to call the cable company to get some Jimmer.

The operator asked me why everyone was ordering this channel right now.  She said that this night reminded her of a big pay-per-view MMA night – she was flooded with calls.  I told her that we all wanted to see Jimmer Fredette play and this was the only way to do it.  Mrs. Warner Cable chuckled, said I had serious issues and then flicked the switch and made Jimmer appear in the Sinkoff household.

And Jimmer didn't disappoint.

What Fredette did last night was nothing short of remarkable.  He had 43 points and hit 5 three-pointers against the Aztecs.  He scored BYU's final 15 points in the first half. Fredette topped 40 points for the second straight game and the third time in his last four games.

The entire nation has Jimmer Fredette mania.  He’s all over the place – on Sportscenter, in Sports Illustrated or on the cover of PerezHilton.com.  The Glens Falls graduate is the nation’s new fad – like a Silly Band, a Cabbage Patch Doll or a Tickle Me Elmo.

But he’s our Tickle Me Elmo.  As a Capital Region resident, we should ALL be proud!
