After another scoreless outing on Friday, Shenendehowa graduate and No. 3 overall pick in the Major League Baseball draft, Ian Anderson, will be promoted from the Gulf Coast League to the Appalachian League's Danville Braves.

In 18 innings of professional baseball thus far, Anderson has yet to allow an earned run and has exhibited great control.

The information came in exclusively to 104.5 The Team. Anderson is fresh off leading Shen to the Class AA NYS Championship this year. There was much speculation about where he would be drafted, with some mock drafts suggesting he would fall into the mid-20s of the first round, but he ultimately went third overall.

The Braves have a youth movement in their minors and are stacked with pitching. In 4-6 years, expect the Braves to be real contenders in the National League, with Anderson being one of the pieces to help get them back to relevance.

Congratulations, Ian!
