For my entire life there is one voice in my head when it comes to the New York Yankees, Bob Sheppard AKA "The Voice of God". I mean no disrespect to other announcers but when I hear Bob Sheppard I think baseball. His voice is something special to me, like when you're having a bad day and mom or dad calls. I might start quoting Guns and Roses "Sweet Child of mine" if I go on.

One of my favorite things about Derek Jeter is that he insisted that Sheppard be his announcer even after Sheppard retired in 2007. So not only do I lose my "Captain" this year I lose the voice of baseball. Below I've added the video from when Jeter used Sheppard's recorded intro in the 2010 All Star Game after Sheppard passed away. Judge me if you must but I am getting misty eyed as i listen to it.
