Tuesday was a historic day in New York as the ban was lifted on MMA in the state. The sport has been outlawed for 20 years but the Assembly overturned that ban.

The sport could host 3-4 events in New York once all the regulations are set. Six months is a reasonable time frame, Assembly Majority Leader Joe Morelle told us today.

He joined us today to talk about the decision, what the conversations were like on the floor of the assembly, how much money MMA can help bring to the state, and where the first UFC cards could be held.

It seems logical that events could be held in New York City, Albany, Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester. We could see Connor McGregor or Ronda Rousey in New York that means. That would be exciting in its own right.
