This weekend the number one nationally ranked UAlbany Great Danes men's lacrosse team travels to take on the Maryland Terrapins. The Terps will enter this Saturday's game as not just the reigning defending champions, but also the second ranked team in the country. Last season, the Coach Scott Marr led Great Danes lost to Maryland both in the regular season (in a rescheduled game by just one goal) and in the eventual NCAA playoffs. Is this game Saturday the most important in program history? Head Coach Scott Marr joined Levack and Goz to discuss the importance of this matchup

Levack from Levack and Goz wrote this upon the upcoming match up.

The reason this is a "must win" for Scott Marr and the Great Danes is this, The Danes only play one more high profile team this season. Meanwhile the Terrapins are featured on the Big Ten network or better for the rest of their games. Basically if Albany loses Saturday they would need Maryland to tank and they would need to annihilate Yale in April to get a sniff of the top spot agai

I agree with Levack's belief in that the national recognition still has not be shown towards the Great Dane program. A victory over Maryland would finally give the Great Danes the respect they deserve not just for this season, but for seasons to come for the program.

Face-off in College Park, Maryland is set for noon eastern. Do you believe this is the most important game in program history? Let us know below.
