It wasn't that long ago that the Buffalo Bills were one of the surprise teams in the NFL.

In fact, it wasn't that long ago that one of the longest active playoff droughts looked like it would mercifully come to an end.

If you're a Bills fan, you thought it couldn't get any worse than losing to the Jets at home, two weeks ago, in what was a terribly played second half.

Then, the Bills were embarrassed by the Cowboys, 44-7, and the seemed like that was the lowest it could get.

Wrong again.

Buffalo dropped to new lows, not putting up any fight and losing to Miami, 35-8, on Sunday.

The Bills were once 3-0 and 4-1, but now they have sunk back to .500, at 5-5, and what's worse is, the way they played on Sunday, they couldn't have beat most college teams. They were totally outplayed in every facet of the game.

The offense looked great for oh, the first drive, as they moved down the field, but had to settle for a field goal. They gained 70 yards on that first possession, more than the rest of the half combined.

The defense has been exposed over the past few weeks, being outscored 106-26.

Adding injury to insult are all of the injuries the Bills have suffered lately.

DT Kyle Williams, LB Shawne Merriman, C Eric Wood and DB George Wilson were all already out coming into the game. Add to those players, DB Terrence McGee, WR Donald Jones and the worst of all possible cases, RB Fred Jackson going down in this game.

Buffalo was 0-for-14 on third- and fourth-down conversions. Ryan Fitzpatrick continues to struggle since signing that $59 million extension.

The best highlight of the day was Dave Rayner's career-long 56-yard field goal.

The Bills have showed how quickly they can go from one of the hottest teams in the NFL, to one of the worst. Now, they must turn things around quickly if they want to...just win another game.
