Not one player on either roster will get too geeked over the Time Warner Cable cup except to say "it's a big win" but the rivalry between the Adirondack Phantoms and Albany Devils is worth this TWC Cup and Albany now leads the season series 4-1 over the Phantoms after a 4-3 win in Glens Falls Friday night.

Second perios goals by Harri Pesonen, and two by Joe Whitney, all within eight minutes provided the impetus for the Devils. They trailed 2-1 after the first period. The Devils out shot the Phantoms 16-4 in that second period.

The third period was a different story as Adirondack provided the majority of pressure out shooting the Devils 21-4 but managed to get only one puck past Devils net minder Keith Kinkaid who for the night stopped 27 pucks.

These two rivals will become very familiar with each other over the next week and a day as they play each other four times in those eight days. First the Devils, who are now two games over .500 after a very sluggish start to the year, make a stop in Springfield for a contest Saturday night vs the Springfield Falcons.
