The Albany area is lucky to have an elite youth soccer club in the area with Black Watch Premiere, which is now in its 20th year of operation.

"Most college coaches are recruiting at elite regional and national events," said Steve Freeman, Director and Founder of Black Watch Premier, with Armen and Levack on 104.5 The Team.

"It's similar to AAU hoop. Black Watch is an elite organization and we try to draw players in from a 60 to 90 mile radius. We have roughly seven college coaches on staff. We start our program at four and five years old and go all the way to Youth 23's."

The prime time to get involved with Black Watch Premier will be from June 20th to July 20th.

"This tends to be the time of year when folks are searching around for programs. We've switched our model from tryouts to trials. We run our program for six weeks. Instead of just having tryout nights, it's like a trial window that you would see overseas or in other foreign agencies. Players can come in and see what it's like. It's a real training environment so they really get an idea of how we operate."
