While most of the Tampa Bay Rays - Capital District news this week has centered around the Rays drafting of Niskayuna senior Garrett Whitley, we remind you that the Rays have another 518er in Maple Hill's Jaime Schultz.

Schultz has been dominating this season for the AA Montgomery Biscuits, and was just named to the Southern League All-Star Team.

He's 4-3 with a 3.06 ERA this season, and is coming off a game on June 8th when he threw seven innings, allowed zero runs, and struck out nine.

Schultz has great velocity (between 93-97 MPH), and features a good curveball. We talked to Biscuits' broadcaster Aaron Vargas recently about what he's seen from Schultz, and if he has some of the best stuff in the Southern League.

"“There’s no question, it’s hands down…All you have to do is just watch hitters. Hitters will tell you what kind of stuff a pitcher has….Stuff is not going to be the issue with him at all…With that kind of stuff, if it’s 0-2 or 1-2, it’s game over.”
