New York Giants defensive end injured his hands during a fireworks incident this fourth of July weekend, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

On Sunday evening, Pierre-Paul was still meeting with doctors whenever the report first came. While the extent of the injury is unknown, it does not appear to be "career threatening".

The reason why there is clarification that it's not career threatening is because of this tweet:

While Giants fans are hoping this is not a serious injury, next up on the G-Men's depth chart is third round draft pick Owamagbe Odighizuwa.

The incident happened in South Florida, where Pierre-Paul has been working out on his own. He has not yet joined the time this summer as the Giants put the franchise tag on JPP months ago and he has declined to sign at this point.
