Jeff Hoffman is only 6 years removed from his days on a pitching mound for Shaker and Thursday night, the former Blue Bison will see his jersey retired by his high school. In fact, Hoffman's number 23 was previously worn by Yankees reliever Tommy Kahnle and both players will be in attendance and recognized.

I was there to see Hoffman make his first Major League Baseball appearance in his home state of New York this summer when he started and got the win over the Mets at Citi Field. Hoffman spent the most time in his career in the majors this past season and he figures to only take on more starts in a young Rockies rotation in 2018.
