The Jets have not made the playoffs since 2010 and they won’t even sniff the playoffs next season, so why not start and develop a young quarterback. I know Christian Hackenberg is going to get a fair shot to start, and even if it’s close he should get the nod. Hackenberg  was last year’s second round pick out of Penn State with a ton of untapped potential. You can’t get better holding a clipboard and standing on the sideline, you have to play and not just in practice. Hackenberg needs a chance to start in a regular season game and prove what he’s capable of doing.

The biggest question, perhaps, regarding the Jets QB situation, is whether or not a handful of games or even one full season will tell Woody Johnson all he needs to know prior to having the opportunity to draft a quarterback in what is anticipated to be an extremely talented class.
