Jets Part Ways With Chris Johnson; Decline Option

It was supposed to be a 'three-headed monster' in New York with the signing of Chris Johnson last off-season. That never happened and neither did the production that the Jets were looking for.

On Saturday, Gang Green declined to exercise Johnson's $500,000 option bonus, which officially will make him a free agent this spring.

This past January, Johnson was arrested in Florida for open possession of a firearm. That definitely did not help his cause.

Johnson finished his only year in New York with career lows in rushing, carries and receptions. He will turn 30 years old this upcoming season.
