Good news....for now.... for Glens Falls native Jimmer Fredette.

Jimmer has signed with the New Orleans Pelicans, the team he appeared in 50 games for a season ago. Jimmer has been signed under the NBA's "hardship exception."

The hardship waiver is what a team can use when they have more than three players injured or sick - and those players are expected to be out for more than two weeks.

The Pelicans are out five players right now. They need to apply for the hardship exception, which allows them to add a 16th player to the overall roster.

Once one of the injured players is eligible to return, the Pelicans must release a player to get back to 15 players. Everything I've read has said that the player released does not have to be Jimmer, however,

Fredette was just drafted by the Westchester Knicks of the D-League. If he doesn't stick in New Orleans, he'll head back to Westchester.
