Sure, the NBA 3-point contest at all-star weekend will be awesome. Steph Curry. Klay Thompson. JJ Redick. It's going to be a great display of shooting talent.

But don't forget about the D-League competition on Saturday afternoon, which features our own Jimmer Fredette.

The event takes place at 1:30 p.m. with the game following at 2:00. Jimmer is playing in the game as well. He will represent the Eastern Conference.

You can watch the events on NBA TV.

Fredette has certainly earned an appearance at All-Star Weekend. He is averaging 22.6 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor and 43 percent from three. He's also shooting a crisp 91 percent from the foul line.

Fredette is looking for his call-up to the NBA. Hopefully this all-star weekend can continue to elevate his stock. But also important, Fredette appears to be having fun playing basketball again, and that's good for us in the Capital Region to see.
