The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series made it's way to Martinsville on Sunday for the sixth race in the Chase and the last short track series race of the season. Jimmie Johnson would get the win and take over the points lead at the Tums Fast Relief 500.

Johnson and Clint Bowyer were two of the dominant cars on the track both leading over 100 laps on Sunday afternoon. Denny Hamlin would be a big story of the race as well as he would stay in contention for most of the race even after getting hit with two separate speeding penalties in the pits. Unfortunately the bad luck would continue as his car would cut off and eventually stall on lap 391. He would go to the garage and eventually return but any chance to win was lost.

Much like last week, there were numerous caution flags. At lap 474, Kevin Harvick would suffer engine failure. Most of the lead lap cars would pit except for Brad Keselowski. He would lead on the restart but wouldn't keep it for long as Jimmie Johnson's car was too much to handle. Another caution would come out with 10 laps to go as Dale Earnhardt Jr. making his return and Carl Edwards would get into each other. The restart would occur with five laps left with Johnson still in the lead. He would hold on for the win with Kyle Busch right on his bumper for second place. Kasey Kahne would finish in third follwed by Aric Amirola and Bowyer to round out the top 5.

With the win, Johnson takes a two point lead over  Brad Keselowski who finished sixth.
