I have always believed in high school athletes playing multiple sports, and not choosing too early in their lives to just play one. Sophomore Joseph Girard III is a perfect example of why you kids don't have to. He is the starting quarterback on the Glens Falls football team but is already being heavily recruited by some of the top tier division one schools in the country to play basketball. Girard III can add a New York State football championship to his resume with a win over Chenenago Forks on Saturday in the class AA Championship at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. And then, it's on to a long basketball season. Just like in football, Girard III will be the best player on the court.
