It is one of the true enigmas in sports, a baseball manager.  How much credit do they get when a club wins and how much blame when one loses?  This year, at some point, Joe Girardi must be given a little credit, right?

Bag that thought.  How could the Yankee manager get credit?  He has, despite injuries all over the place, Mariano Rivera, Robinson Cano, CC Sabathia and that large payroll jumping over $200 million.  This is the Yankees, where everything is easy say some expert baseball people and anti-Yankee people because money is all that matters and should guarantee wins and division titles and pennants and World Series crowns.

Stop sign.  Angels, Blue Jays, Phillies and Dodgers, how are you doing right now?  Money isn't everything.  Scouting and building a baseball team are important and the way you spend your money is crucial.  The way you put it together is also important in times of crisis due to any reason including injuries.

Joe Girardi was given spare tires, a spare wheel, break pads and reloaded transmission.  The vehicle is driving pretty well.  He deserves some credit, even if he is the manager for a team with a payroll that some think guarantees winning it all every year.
