Another one of the big free agent dominoes has fallen as pitcher Johnny Cueto has signed with the San Francisco Giants. Terms of the deal are below:

Cueto was one of the top free agents on the market this offseason. When healthy, he has great stuff - and was dominant in the National League with the Reds.

He struggled a bit in the back half of 2015 after being traded to the Royals, but for his career, the 29-year-old is 96-70 with a 3.30 ERA.

His acquisition instantly gives the Giants a rotation that can rival the Mets: The Giants now have Cueto, Madison Bumgarner, Matt Cain, Jeff Samardzija and Jake Peavy. That's not quite as good as the Mets, but it instantly makes the Giants a contender in the NL again.

Furthermore, it helps the Giants keep up the Diamondbacks, who have gone all out this offseason, signing Zack Greinke and trading for Shelby Miller from the Braves.
