After a week of rumors involving his health, Jose Aldo officially is out at UFC 189.The most anticipated fight of 2015 is no more. Jose Aldo is now out of the main event of UFC 189 in Las Vegas after suffering a rib injury in training. UFC President Dana White appeared on Sportscenter at 8:15pm eastern to deliver the official news. Aldo has been stripped of his UFC featherweight championship and now Conor McGregor will fight Chad Mendes for the interim championship. Aldo has not lost a mixed martial arts fight since back in 2005. However this is far from the first time Aldo has not been able to make a scheduled fight in his career. Aldo has missed his scheduled fights at UFC 125, UFC 149, UFC 153 UFC 176 and UFC 189 due to injury. McGregor is viewed by most fight fans as the next star of the promotion. In January 2015, UFC Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver was the most-watched MMA event ever on FOX Sports 1, and was also the most-watched MMA event on cable television since 2009.
