While he continues to weigh the six Division I basketball offers, Joseph Girard III has resumed his domination of Section II on the football field.

Glens Falls opened the 2018 season, Girard's senior year, with a blowout of Class B rival Schuylerville on Saturday, 43-14. In the win, Girard threw four touchdowns and ran for a pair of scores. The Indians are the two-time defending sectional champs and despite those salivating scholarships at his doorstep, Duke, Syracuse and Michigan among them, New York state's all-time leading high school basketball scorer is keeping his promise by finishing out his football career at Glens Falls.

With a matchup against Schuylerville in the rearview mirror, Girard and company appear to be poised for a cruise-control run through Class B. Standing in the way perhaps is Schalmont, however. The Sabres knocked off two-time defending state champion Troy on Friday night, snapping the Flying Horses' 26-game winning streak.
