Former New York Giant and Oakland Raider pass rusher Justin Tuck said he was hanging up the cleats this offseason, and on Friday, he will officially do that.

But he can't retire without coming back to New York one last time:

Tuck spent nine years with the Giants (2005-2013) and was part of both Tom Coughlin Super Bowl teams. He registered 60.5 sacks in New York and added another six in Oakland during his final two seasons. He also forced 20 fumbles.

Tuck is one of the legendary Giants defensive ends of the 2000s, along with Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora and Jason Pierre-Paul.

I like the idea of the one-day contract, despite that some people find it cheesy. I think it's a nice way for the team and player to remain connected. It also is nice for the fans who may have been upset to see a player leave the organization return. It shows that the player also appreciated his time there, and that is definitely the case with Tuck.
