The #1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats extended their home court winning streak as they defeated the #5 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels at Rupp Arena.

Kentucky was led by their freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with 17 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb each had 14 points. Darius Miller, the team's 6th man, collected 12 points in his new role this season.

For North Carolina, the Tar Heels were led by Tyler Zeller and Harrison Barnes each with 14 points. Along with P.J. Hairston with 11 points.

There was some controversy with the ending of this game. Anthony Davis had blocked a late shot by the Tar Heels. The ball was rebounded with approximately two seconds left. However, replays show that the Wildcats walked with the ball when the clock was still winding down. Nonetheless, it was a great display by the top team in the country and another top 5 powerhouse in men's college basketball.
