Oklahoma City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant absolutely embarrassed Vince Carter on Sunday night, but see why this play is totally overrated.

Kevin Durant was his normal stellar self on Sunday night as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Dallas Mavericks 107-101.  Durant poured in 31 points on 10-of-19 shooting.  Russell Westbrook scored a game-high 35 points for Oak City who improved to (50-17) on the season.

With 3:04 left in the game, Kevin Durant broke Vince Carter’s ankles with a ridiculous between-the-legs dribble that caused Vince to fall on his keister.  It was a great move by Durant, but the play is totally overrated.  Durant missed his 3-point attempt.  Carter grabbed the rebound and converted a layup on the other end.

What other play in sports would unfold the same way?  Sure, Vince Carter looked silly, but Durant didn’t even score.  Plus, Carter scored on the other end for cryin out loud!  I can’t think of another play in sports where the player getting “embarrassed” doesn’t give up any points AND actually scores himself.  Craziness.
