Breaking news: As noted above, rising Shenendehowa senior Kevin Huerter has committed to the University of Maryland.

After leading Shen to the Class AA New York State title this past season, Huerter attracted interest from several major programs, including Notre Dame, Michigan, Xavier, Iowa, Creighton, Miami, and many others.

Maryland figures to be one of the top teams in the country this season in the Big 10 and the addition of Huerter can only help for beyond that.

Huerter is armed with a great shot from the outside, great court awareness and a great passing sense. With a 6'5 frame, he's also long on both the offensive and defensive end.

He's got the ability to play in the Big 10 and should be a great fit at Maryland.

Just about to start his senior year, Huerter is the top prospect in the Capital Region. Albany Academy rising junior Hameir Wright is also highly touted and is receiving major Division 1 interest.
