All the talk going into the New York Knicks opener was all about Carmelo Anthony and rookie Kristaps Porzingis, but the Knicks' 122-97 win against the Milwaukee Bucks was due to all the young guys on the bench. The Knicks' bench accounted for 73 of the 122 points.

The team was led by newly acquired Derrick Williams with 24 points, he was 8 of 17 from the field and 7 of 9 from the foul line. The rookie Porzingis was 3 of 11 from the field and 9 of 12 from the line finishing with 16 points.

The most surprising stat line of the night was the struggle of Carmelo Anthony. He had 11 points in 29 minutes, shooting 4 of 16, but was able to get the surrounding cast around him. That will be a key to the Knicks season going forward.

The Knicks will host the Atlanta Hawks in their home opener on Thursday night.
