The New York Knicks won their season opener on Wednesday night against Jason Kidd and the Milwaukee Bucks.

On top of that, it was a super strange victory. The 12-year veteran Carmelo Anthony only scored 11 points on the night while the bench made up 75% of the scoring. Oh, and the Knicks played really good defense in the second half. All weird, right?

In his NBA debut, 20 year old Kristaps Porzingis had 16 points. The leader in production off the night was from the pine by Derrick Williams, who had 24 points.

The Knicks beats the Bucks by 25 points, which ties for the largest season-opening victory in New York franchise history. It's nice to get some franchise records that are actually positive. And again, it's weird.

Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come for the Knicks this year.

The Knicks have their home opener on Thursday night against the Atlanta Hawks.
