After it was announced yesterday that AJ Allmendinger will take over the driving duties for the #22 Dodge, a job that used to belong to Kurt Busch, Busch has found himself a new ride. The one time Sprint Cup champion will drive the #51 Chevrolet for Phoenix Racing.

Phoenix racing owner James Finch had this to say about the signing of Kurt Busch:

“I told Kurt, ‘I won’t fire you and you won’t quit. We’ll do whatever it takes—roll in the mud if we have to to win. I’ve worked construction all my life just so I could race and have a good time. I’ve worked with iron workers, I worked with construction workers, so working with a driver is not going to be a problem. As I said earlier, all we want to do is win.”

Busch will take over the roll that Landon Cassill had for most of last season in the #51. Bill Elliot, Boris Said and Mike Bliss also ran races in that car last season as well. None of them had a top-10 finish last year, but with a better driver and the fact that Phoenix Racing uses Hendrick Motorsports engines expect them to be more competitive in 2012.
