LeBron James came to Tim Tebow's defense via Twitter.  He had some high praise for Tebow and some harsh comments for ESPN's Merril Hoge.

ESPN's Merril Hoge has voiced his displeasure regarding Tim Tebow's NFL skill set recently.  Hoge posted on Twitter, "Sitting watching tape off bronco offense from last year! Orton or Tebow? It's embarrassing to think the broncos could win with tebow!!"

By the way, "Watching tape off?"  Come on, Merrill.  You're better than that.  Anyway, Hoge's Twitter posts and comments on the ESPN Radio prompted LeBron James to respond.

LeBron posted on Twitter, "Tim Tebow will succeed in the NFL. He's a hard worker, a student of the game, a natural born leader and most of all a WINNER! It takes time and he'll be nice."

LeBron also wrote, "Listened to Merril Hoge today on SC and he was just blasting Tebow. The man hasn't even play a full season and its only his 2nd year in. Guys get on that TV and act like they was all WORLD when they played. How bout encouraging him and wishing him the best instead of hating!!"

First off, it's a dead heat in the grammar department between Hoge and LeBron.  Secondly, LeBron made a great point.  It's only Tebow's 2nd season.  That's the argument to make if you're a Tebow believer.  Spare me on the "Tebow was great in college" talk.  There is a laundry list of players who were great in college but didn't amount to anything in the professional ranks.

I don't believe Tebow has the skill set to amount to anything.  However, if you wanted to make a good argument for Tebow, the argument to make is to point out that Tebow is young and isn't a finished product yet.
