Leicester City has pulled off the unthinkable. In the team's 132-year history they have finally won their first Premiere League title.

They clinched the title after Tottenham Hotspur drew with Chelsea 2-2. Tottenham had to beat Chelsea to keep their title hopes alive after Leicester City drew 1-1 with Manchester United over the weekend.

Last season, Leicester City were nearly relegated, but were able to win seven of their last nine matches to finish 14th place and stay in the league. With the way last season had been, the Foxes were given 5,000-to-1 odds to win the Premiere League this season.

Their star striker, and Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers Association, Jamie Vardy led the team with 22 goals and 6 assists as midfielder Riyad Mehrez tallied 17 goals and 11 assists to help the Foxes achieve their improbable rise.

Leicester City is the 5th team to become a first-time champion in England in the past 60 years (1977-78 Nottingham Forest, 1971-72 Derby County, 1968-69 Leeds, 1961-62 Ipswich Town). The team's previous best finish was runner-up in 1928-29.
