Several local baseball players are currently in the minor leagues, working their way up towards the majors.

Maple Hill graduate Jaime Schultz (Rays) has been promoted to AA Montgomery. The hard-throwing RH can touch 97 MPH and can help the Rays as either a starter or a reliever in the future.

Shaker product Tommy Kahnle spent all season on the Rockies big league roster before being injured in August. He has been optioned to AAA to work on his consistency. A very hard thrower, Kahnle should contribute to the big league club again soon.

In a cool note of interest, La Salle graduate JP Sportman and Shen grad Branden Cogswell will both play together in High-A Stockton of the A's organization. The two played together for the South Troy Dodgers locally.
