As someone who has witnessed first-hand the dreaded ills of cancer and what it can do to loved ones, I have always held the American Cancer Society as a charity near and dear to my heart. So anytime the local sporting community bans together and helps raise money for this very worthwhile cause, I am all for it and love to help spreading the word.

This coming Monday (August 27th), local basketball players and members of the community will be teaming up for the 4th Annual "Teeing Off On Cancer" golf outing to support Coaches vs. Cancer. Sponsored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, this wonderful event will be raising money for cancer research right here in the Capital Region, seeing a marriage between the worlds of golf and basketball.

This terrific fundraiser will take place at Saratoga National Golf Club, with a day of fun including a scramble and several other contests. Registration for the day's events and lunch will begin at 11:30am, with all of the golf action teeing off at 1:00pm. If you want to join fellow golfers to raise money for an amazing cause, just visit their website.
