Local Sports Weekend Recap

The Capital District's major college teams were all in action this weekend: To the recap if you missed anything.

1. Union hockey went 2-0 on the weekend. The Dutchmen opened up defense of their 2013-14 NCAA championship with wins over American International College and New Hampshire.

2. RPI hockey went 1-1 at the Ice Breaker tournament in South Bend, Ind. The Engineers upset No. 12 Notre Dame before falling to national power, Minnesota, in the final.

3. UAlbany football fell to 4-2 on the season after dropping a 41-28 decision against Richmond on Saturday at Bob Ford Field. The Danes, who went 1-11 last year, continue to play well and keep games close, even in losses.
