Once again UAlbany's attackmen Lyle Thompson is up for lacrosse's most prestigious award The Tewaaraton Award.  This is Thompson's third consecutive year, and he seeks to become the first repeat winner in the 15-year history of the Tewaaraton Award.

The other finalists consist of University of Notre Dame attackman Matt Kavanagh, University of Denver attackman Wesley Berg, Duke University midfielder Myles Jones, and Syracuse University attackman Kevin Rice.

The senior attackman from Onondaga Nation, N.Y., last year shared the Tewaaraton Award with his brother, Miles, led Albany to the America East regular season and tournament titles, earning his third consecutive conference Player of the Year award to go with Most Outstanding Player of the America East Tournament. Thompson leads the nation with 6.29 points per game, and his 107 points and 59 assists are both second nationally. On April 14, he passed 2013 Tewaaraton Award winner Rob Pannell (Cornell) as the all-time scoring leader in NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse.

UAlbany will play Cornell in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament this Saturday in Ithaca, NY.
