Malcolm Butler Has Been Banned From OTAs?
This is an odd story that comes from Cbssports.com.
Malcolm Butler, hero of the Super Bowl, and breaker of my own Seattle Seahawks-loving heart, has been banned from participating in Patriots OTAs.
Reports say that Butler's May 25th flight was canceled due to weather, causing him to be late to the Pats first workout on May 26th. As a result, Bill Belichick has not allowed Butler to practice in any of the seven sessions that followed.
Butler is apparently allowed to attend meetings and watch film -- all the fun stuff.
Reportedly, Butler will be allowed to participate in the last round of OTAs that begin today.
I don't get it. The guy just won you the Super Bowl. He helped cement the legacy of the organization, it's quarterback, and it's head coach. I think a little sympathy for some bad weather on a flight could be in order.
I'm still mad at you, Malcolm, but I'm on your side here.
